Since Bruce Office Supply was incorporated in 1983, Scott’s been working for the company originally founded by his father. While approximately 65% of second-generation family businesses fail, because of Scott, Bruce Office is still alive—and not only alive but thriving. In his many years at the company, Scott was responsible for continually advancing the company through technology and business decisions, training new sales representatives and managing the existing sales staff, all while growing his own book of business. His capacity for anticipating new trends has kept this small, independent and local business competitive with national chain stores.
In 2007, Scott purchased the former Nuncie’s Music Building, and after 18 weeks of renovations, unveiled the new Bruce Office headquarters. He acquired an Office Furniture USA franchise, a bold move that expanded the company beyond office supplies. The new headquarters includes a 3600 square foot furnishings showroom.
Scott has been written up in many industry publications and was awarded the “Small Business Man of the Year” award in 2005. He has been on the S.P. Richards Dealer Advisory Board and is currently seated on the NOPA Board of Governors. His education and expertise come from the years of dedication he’s given to the company that bears his name, a name we’re lucky to work with. His vision and leadership inspire loyalty among employees and customers alike, and his position at the wheel of Bruce Office means one thing: the future of Bruce Office is as bright as the smiley face in our logo.
